Students just need to attend classes to get assignments and there is someone to prepare fine-tuned write-ups to score higher distension marks. Experts believe cheating in Australian universities is widespread and more than two-thirds of university tutors say they marked assignments suspected were written other than student submitting them. The draft released by the Morrison Government would make it an offense to offer and advertise such cheating services to university students. If anyone found guilty in such course could be jailed for 2 years or fined up to $210,000.

To keep the academic integrity Australian education system the government would introduce hefty punishment for organized cheating. Minister for Education Dan Tehan said, ‘organized academic cheating threatened the integrity of Australia’s higher education system’. He further mentioned, If you write another person’s university essay that’s cheating and you’re ripping off other hard-working students and also undermining our world-class education system’.

Once the legislation comes into action assignment writing service providers who advertise university essay and dissertation writing also penalized for their action. At the moment, the only student who got caught cheating or plagiarizing assignment face university action, getting banned for up to one year.

The proposed law mimics the approach taken by New Zealand and follows the advice from the Higher Education Standards Panel with strong support from higher education providers. Once passed, the legislation would give the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) regulator of the sector, powers to take action against such organized cheating. Also can block such websites offering assignment-writing services to the students.
