Eligibility to get this scholarship

Qualifications and work experience

  •   4-year bachelor’s degree and a minimum 3 years of full-time work experience in the relevant field studied after the bachelor’s degree
  •  3-year bachelor’s degree and a minimum 3 years of full-time work experience in the relevant field studied after the bachelor’s degree
  •  2-year bachelor’s degree and a 2-year master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience earned after the bachelor’s degree.

 English Language Test Score

  •  Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 or above (with an individual band score of at least 6.0)

OR

  • an iBT TOEFL score of at least 84 (with a minimum of 21 in all subtests)

OR

  •  a Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score of less than 50.

 

For the specialised categories, the language eligibility in Academic IELTS should be over 6.0 or above (individual band at least 5.5) or an equivalent iBT TOEFL or PTE Academic test score.

How to apply for Australia Awards?

  1. Visit the website Australia Awards Nepal to know about the supplied documents.
  2. See for your eligibility in terms of qualification, work qualification, and language requirements.
  3. Research the universities and courses that can help you achieve your goals and the development needs of your country. [You might have to read about the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) carefully, as there are limited courses available to international students. ]
  4. Acquire all the required documents
  5. Submit your application on OASIS.
  6. If the applicant is proven eligible during the validation check, then you will be sent for technical assessment, then ranked and forwarded to the Australian Government for consideration.
  7. Further, the filtered candidates will be refined and shortlisted if they demonstrate clear development outcomes Nepal will benefit from after their return.
  8. Shortlisted applicants are invited to a selection interview. Applicants may have to do a written exercise and face the panel interview.

What after getting selected for the awards?

When you succeed in earning a scholarship, you will have to take preparatory training. The training will include course counselling, pre-departure briefing, the university’s introductory academic program, and other necessary preparatory study on arrival in Australia.
