Up to 15,000 dollars scholarship for international students for regional study

500 international student could get up to $15,000 scholarship a year under ‘Destination Australia’  

To drive student’s flow into regional Australia the Australian government will be providing an attractive scholarship for international students. The scholarship would be available for domestic students who choose regional Australia for their study under ‘Destination Australia’ program. The number of scholarship positions will be 4,700 for over four years. Under this scholarship, an international student could get up to 15,000 dollars a year in scholarship to study in regional Australia.

An Australian Government Department of Education and Training document mentioned over 1000 scholarship positions would be available each year for international as well as domestic students. ‘Scholarships will be distributed evenly between international and domestic students’, the department documents state. That means 500 scholarship for international students each year.

The scholarship would be available to those students who are enrolled at a registered tertiary provider’s regional campus and studying anyone out of Certificate IV, Accredited Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Bachelors Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters or Doctoral degrees.

The Temporary Graduate Visa international students usually get after their study completion in Australia could be extended for another one year if a student completed their studies at a regional campus. It happens only if a student completed a study and lived in regional Australia during their first post-study period and want to extend the stay in regional again.

The application for ‘Destination Australia’ scholarship will open later this year and commence from first semester 2020.
