Clearer than last year, the new NSW skilled priority occupation list for the program year 2019-2020 is. Recently announced skilled occupation list not only indicates what sorts for skill state looking for but also signals who would get state nomination for a subclass-190 permanent residency visa. While covering major popular occupations the NSW skilled occupation list 2019-2020 makes it clear that only candidates with a closer tie with the state and high point scorer on SkillSelect would be eligible for 190 subclass visa nomination.
Especially pro-rata occupations which are high in demand and applications as well are now subject to the additional requirement. To get an invitation to be nominated by the NSW state government such candidates must be living in NSW, and have been employed in the state for at least one year in their nominated occupation. But, not necessarily to be employed while submitting the application, previous employment can satisfy the requirement.
Also, the state has made it clear they would invite to apply for NSW nomination for top ranking candidates on SkillSelect. That means whoever scores high in SkillSelect and meet the additional criteria would get NSW state nomination for subclass-190 visa application. This is the clear indication from the state this year, NSW state nomination guideline document reads, ‘’Candidates are ranked within their occupation according to their; points total, English language ability and skilled employment. The top ranking candidates that are living in NSW and have at least 12 months skilled employment in NSW will be selected.’’ The new list also indicates the possibility for nomination under availability low, medium or high, so you can rate your chance.
