Two Nepalese lost their life in a fishing incident in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney. Two men aged 25 and 22 years died after being swabbed off rocks and into the ocean at about 2.45 pm on Monday, 27 May 2024. They were pulled from the water after a short while. New South Wales Police identified them as Nepalese nationals.

Responding swiftly after the incident report, officers from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command and Marine Area Command, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, Marine Rescue, Sutherland Shire lifeguards, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, rushed to the scene.
A search and rescue operation was commenced after the emergency services were called to Cape Solander Drive, Kurnell. Two young men were pulled from the water and given CPR until NSW Ambulance Paramedics took over. But both failed to be revived.
The Nepalese community sorrows the loss of two young lives.
A police report is being prepared for the coroner.
