South Australia has updated its priorities for general skilled migration for the program year 2019/2020. The state nominated occupation list has 275 occupations from health, ICT, social welfare, STEM and trade occupation sector open for South Australian as well as overseas residents. SA has another 223 occupations in a supplementary skilled list (SSL) dedicated to applicants who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the state or has high calibration.

The international students will get the benefit
An international student who has completed a study in South Australia would get at least a regional provisional 489 visa nomination from the state. South Australia will offer state nomination for the Provisional 489 visa to a current or former international student residing in South Australia. Those who have spent 7 years in SA also be eligible to apply for 489. Working in SA in any occupation for at least 3 months minimum 40 hours a fortnight and studying one year in South Australia also help to get state nomination for a subclass 489 visa.
