- ACT has 552 places for 491 & 452 places for 190 visa available on the 1st of January

Canberra has opened its skill migration program after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has also updated its skilled occupation list for state nomination aligned with a new-normal scenario. Now, Australian states and territories are focused on applicants critical to support the COVID-19 response, and Canberra has aligned its nomination criteria for 2020/21. Canberra’s new update on its skilled migration program would be not so exciting for many international students eyeing for ACT nomination.
Canberra would invite individuals providing critical or specialist medical services in Canberra as well as who can fulfill critical skills required to maintain the supply of essential goods and services, as well as who can deliver services in the critical sector to help ACT’s economic recovery.
ACT has included many occupations in its critical list for 2021, which would wow but nomination places for those occupations are extremely low. Canberra’s critical skill list confirms available places for each month. There is still hope for Accountants and business graduates in Canberra. Canberra’s skilled migration keeps the door open for journalists and writers, graphic designers, web designers as well as interpreters and translators.
ACT has 552 places for 491 & 452 places for 190 visa nomination left for the program year 2020-21. Canberra plans to run the first invitation round on 15 January 2021.
