Australia government is contemplating to cutting down migration number up to 30,000 according to media reports. The plan to downsize the current number 190,000 per year is under a government review. Along with this, the Australian government is planning to increase the number for highly skilled migrations in the annual composition of migration intake.
It is already clear that the Australian government is reviewing its migration policy and framework to ensure best and the brightest people who can contribute to developing the Australian economy only get permanent residency in Australia. There is already a record break fall in regional migration visa grant as the government has a plan to introduced longer regional stay conditions before granting a permanent residency visa to new migrants. Australian prime minister Scot Morrison already confirmed that government is planning to introduce a new temporary visa for regional Australia that will make immigrants live and work five years outside the major Australian cities.
