International Students studying the courses leading to these occupations and planning to get skill assessment no need to worry.
VETASSESS, Australia’s largest skill assessment provider for skilled migration, has announced a pause on its skill assessment service for many popular occupations, effective this week. In a recent news release, VETASSESS said it will no longer accept applications for skill assessment for those popular occupations starting from September 25, 2023. This temporary halt is aimed at enhancing efficiency in handling the high volume of applications it receives each day.

In its note, VETASSESS mentioned, “In agreement with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), we will not accept new applications for these occupations to enable us to manage the high number of applications more effectively.”
This pause will affect both Pathway 1 and Pathway 2 applications under the Overseas Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) and Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) programs. However, the Job Ready Program will remain unchanged. Applicants who have already submitted their skill assessment applications will continue to have their applications processed to obtain an outcome.
