Women considered long and unsocial hours to impede attracting local staff 55 percent of the time, but only 38 percent of male owners and managers felt the same way.
Chefs under 21 in their first year start out earning $13.12 an hour ($494.73 per week), rising to $22.49 an hour ($854.53 per week) as they move into their fourth year of apprenticeship.
COVID-19 also harmed the hospitality industry, with two-thirds of establishments losing their local chefs and 68 percent losing international chefs during the pandemic.
