Australia has been quite dynamic in the recent with respect to changing migration rules and visa subclasses that has left many migrants confused. A number of changes have been introduced in the skilled visas of Australia. These raft of changes need to be seen properly so as to remove any possible confusions in the understanding of the new eligibility criteria especially occupation list.
The biggest changes are still the scrapping of employer-sponsored 457 visas which has now been replaced with new Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482). These said changes have come into effect from 18th March 2018.
The changes done in visa for migrants include the introduction of a new skill list, Regional Occupation List (ROL) containing occupations available for Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS). The new set of visa requires relevant work experience, English language competency and positive skill assessment which will be a difficult task for many international students who got jobs earlier by doing diploma courses alone. However, some industry experts have shown hopes by the fact that Training visa (Subclass 407) may be the savior for international students with 457 and TSS Visas closing doors on them.
