The famous cab company Ola has started its operations in Australia as well, according to the statement made yesterday. The cab service has started in Perth and will be continued on a limited basis for some time to see the response. The company had announced its decision to venture into the Australian market last month.
In a statement made to the media, the administration had said that the services will be made available in Perth under “limited basis”. Ola is the world’s largest ride-sharing platform backed by SoftBank. As part of rolling out this project in Perth, the cab service had started onboarding cab drivers and private vehicle owners in Australia in the month of January itself. The target places for these were Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
As part of the soft launch offer in Australia, Ola will be giving first two rides each of worth AUD10 free to the customers. This may help in introducing the service at first as the Australian market is already dominated by players like Uber. It is to be noted that Ola and Uber are always giving each other cutthroat competition.
Uber had entered the Australian market in the year 2012 and is currently operating in the regions of 19 Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Canberra.
