Renting House on Student Wage

Budget issues are always there for students for obvious reasons and thus they are often forced to cut down on many necessities. A big part of any renter’s budget always goes towards the rent and thus this needs to be managed properly. As a student in Australia many try to take up some job to gain financial stability but the laws have limits set about the working hours which only leaves space for apprenticeship. If you are lucky enough then you may find some that pays you well but that is not the general case. Here are a few ideas you may want to consider for finding a suitable accommodation according to the wage that you are earning.

Know what you need

Try to list down what all you need in an accommodation and then go about it. This will help you narrow down your options. But while you are doing this, keep the economic aspect of it in mind. You may want to find a home near CBD or beach but that will cost a lot. Hence it is better to take accommodation in interior parts that will not just empty your pockets.

Sharing and getting roomate

Sharing is a good way to reduce your expenses. Find a suitable roommate for you and all your accommodation expenses are cut in half. This will also help you building relations and finding friends. Many international students find it hard to adjust at first and having a roommate helps.

Beware of Cheap rentals

Beware of accommodations that seem cheap. Many a times landlords lure students by providing lower rentals but be careful of this. These properties lack many facilities that you would require and many a times are also not even in safe places. Do not compromise on basic needs.

Sponsorship letter from parents

The wage that you will earn is not sufficient enough to get you an accommodation. And thus any tenant will not accept it as a proof of financial stability. Here you can produce a sponsorship letter by your parents that will let them know you are financially backed.

Apart from these you can also look up hostels that are in the vicinity of the institution you are studying in. These are generally cheap with only problem being more regulations. Since these are near to you college you also end up saving in travel expenses on a regular basis.
