Commemorative Birth Certificates

Birth of a child in family brings happiness as we welcome a new life among us. But not only this, it also brings along with it some responsibilities that start right with getting a birth certificate made. Gone are the times when birth certificates were mere necessity. As the disposable income is increasing among people so are the choices and options that they want to have.  Birth certificates are very important as they are the first official documents about a person that are used for all the purposes and hence special attention need to be given to these.

There are a range of birth certificates in terms of design, size, and theme based and in fact some are bundled as well that are available and are becoming choice of new parents.  Some of the new sizes introduced include one of the dimensions: 279mm x 355mm. The certificates also come in various themes like, pink-blue for girl-boy, flora and fauna and even handprints as well. As for the theme, you have broadly two options available among the trending ones i.e. Spirit Baby and Be Blessed. All these are designed especially by Aboriginal Artists.

You can also purchase the commemorative birth certificates as package. In a package you would get a Standard Birth Certificate which can be used for all the official purposes.  The whole package would cost you somewhere around $77. Also, you can but commemorative certificates along with the package by paying an additional amount of $24 each. You also need to apply for the commemorative birth certificate at the time you are filling the application for a Birth Certificate Form. This can be done for anyone who has taken birth in NSW.

At the time of birth of your child at the hospital, the new parents are required to fill an application of birth certificate that comes along attached with the “Birth Registration Statement”. These are given by the hospital itself. These are the steps that all parents are needed to perform now regarding birth certificates:

  1. Complete both of the documents, duly filled and signed. The forms can be taken from the hospital staff itself post birth.
  2. These completed documents must be sent through mail to the Registry within 60 days from birth.
  3. Also, each of the parent has to produce three identity documents in order to register the birth of the child and apply for the birth certificates.
